:
Who would you pick as your favorite Star Wars Character? Your age and which generation of Star Wars films that you grew up with might come into play here, but Han Solo’s furry best friend and Ultimate Co-pilot Chewbacca, must always appear on any Star Wars fan’s shortlist. Chewbacca appeared in the first Star Wars movie over 40 years ago and today, he is still one of the most popular characters.
Everyone’s Favorite Wookie
In May 2018 the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story was released and many kids were introduced to Chewbacca for the first time while others were excited to see this loveable character appearing on the big screen again. This latest Star Wars movie chronicles the early adventures of Han and Chewie. So now fans can watch the younger versions of the characters in action.
Later on in 2018, to tie in with the movie, Hasbro will launch the latest in their FurReal line of interactive animals. Happily, this one is going to be our favorite Wookie, Chewbacca. You might know of FurReal from some of their other popular toys such as Roarin’ Tyler the playful tiger and Torch the dragon.
Chewbacca’s Lifelike Responses
Ultimate Co-pilot Chewbacca stands 16 inch tall and has 100 different sound and movement combinations. As a result, the more you play with him, the more features are discovered. The toy is equipped with an accelerometer. This means that Chewie responds to movement activating one of a variety of reactions each time you pick him up.
Does Chewbacca Speak English?
Of course, he speaks Wookie and when he is spoken to, he replies in his own language, Shyriiwook. Very young children might be a little scared because of his Wookie roar. The toy is recommended for 4 years and older and they should be fine with Chewie’s friendly growl. We were impressed with how much the noises this Chewie makes sound like the ones his character makes in the movie. This toy also creates some great facial expressions which will make him even more like your child’s real live best friend.
Ultimate Co-pilot Chewbacca is a bit more cuddly and soft than the movie Chewbacca, so kids can rock their toy Wookie to sleep, once he is tired enough to nod off to sleep he will shut his eyes and even snore!</p
Han Solo is probably unaware of this but Chewie is very ticklish. If you tickle your FurReal Wookie he will react by making noises.
Conclusion
This is a great toy for young Star Wars fans. It wasn’t available when the Han Solo film premiered, but it will be available later in the year. I think Chewbacca will be on many kids wish lists [and possibly a few adults too!]. This Chewie also will require 4AA batteries that are not included with the toy. We think the Star Wars Ultimate co-pilot Chewie is a great new addition to the FurReal of toys.
