Fisher-Price Think & Learn Rocktopus
|
Fisher-Price’s newest STEM (now STEAM-Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) toy recently released on the market is called the Think & Learn Rocktopus. This one is geared toward children ages 3-6. Read on below to learn what I have discovered about the Think & Learn Rocktopus …
What is the Think & Learn Rocktopus?
The Think & Learn Roctopus will introduce your child to basic math skills using music. It spread 15 different instruments across a total of five genres. While learning about music (something that will really grab the little one’s attention), the child will also be learning about patterns and numbers.
Who is this Toy Best for?
Since this toy has been developed from children as young as 3 and up to 6 years old, if purchased for your 3-year-old child could use it for three years before he/she outgrows it. That is great because young children will outgrow most toys within a year. Honestly, what child doesn’t like to learn when there’s music involved? I had a chance to preview this toy and it actually made me wish it had come out when my children were that young because I know they would have loved it.
Is it Fun and Educational?
I believe this will be a fun toy. Rocktopus speaks and tells the child how to make music by inserting instrument pods into it’s tentacles. Kids may sit there for hours on end while they create their own music.
The Fisher-Price Rocktopus is another high quality educational addition to their popular Think & Learn series, which also includes Spell & Speak Sea Turtle, a caterpillar (Code-a-Pillar), and a smart cycle.
Conclusion
If your children are in the right age group for the Rocktopus, then yes, I would recommend this. Some parents might wonder if a 3 year old is too young to start learning math, but quite frankly, a child’s brain is like a sponge, and it soaks up knowledge better than us adults. This would definitely be a great starter toy.
